Consulting is different than coaching.  Consulting provides expert management assessment, opinion, advice, and counsel to clients. Consultant services are useful to help pinpoint organizational issues.  A consultant uses leadership expertise to identify issues and recommend a course of action to remedy.  Consultant services are particularly useful when organizations are undergoing tremendous change or when change has stalled and the cause is unclear.  Consultant diagnoses and recommendations are also useful to uncover the reasons for missed performance targets and determine a path of corrective actions.
